New Student Orientation
Welcome to Dixie State University
We are excited that you have chosen Dixie State University, and we look forward to meeting you at New Student Orientation. Orientation is an interactive program designed for all new Dixie State students and their families and is required for all new freshmen students. Our number one goal is to help each new student experience a stress-free transition to college while introducing you to our great institution.
How do I prepare for orientation?
Before you come to Orientation, you will need to take the Trailblazer Prep course. Trailblazer Prep is a series of modules designed to provide you with the information and tools you need to start your trail toward success here at DSU. After completing the modules, you will be directed to your academic advisor who will help you register for classes.
Trailblazer Prep and Fall 2018 registration for freshmen students will both open Monday, April 16 so you will be able to seamlessly move from the course to class registration.
What Happens at Orientation?
If you have completed Trailblazer Prep and are registered for classes, you are ready for New Student Orientation! During Orientation, you can expect to:
- Take a tour of the DSU campus with an Orientation Leader
- Meet new friends and campus staff and faculty
- Learn how to be successful in a new environment
- Get acquainted with campus resources
